Spire STL Pipeline on Tuesday announced its open season to broadly solicit commercial interest in capacity on its proposed natural gas pipeline that would run approximately 60 miles from the Rockies Express Pipeline interconnection in Illinois to the St. Louis region in Missouri.

The pipeline, whose open season ends August 19, 2016, would be capable of delivering up to 400,000 dekatherms per day of natural gas into the St. Louis region.

"We are fortunate, and excited, to have the opportunity to bring an affordable, reliable and large scale natural gas resource to St. Louis and the surrounding communities. This important new pipeline will help meet the region's growing energy needs well into the future," stated Scott Jaskowiak, VP of strategy and corporate development at Spire. "The open season is a time when we can work alongside local business partners and other interested parties to solidify the design of the pipeline and ensure it meets the growing needs of the region's homes, communities and businesses. Any time we expand natural gas pipeline infrastructure, long-term economic growth benefits follow, which means that businesses and families thrive."

Spire anticipates startup of the pipeline to be as early as November 1, 2018. Learn more about the Spire STL Pipeline at www.spireSTLPipeline.com.
