Six pipeline protestors from Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire were arrested Thursday while protesting a natural gas pipeline that will run through Geprags Park in Vermont, according to Vermont police.

The protestors were arrested for unlawful restraint, trespass, and disorderly conduct.

The protest, organized by a group called Rising Tide, began at Geprags Park where participants blocked construction workers from the pipeline site for several hours.

The state’s Public Service Board last month granted Vermont Gas, the builder of the pipeline, easements it needed to build the pipeline through Geprags Park using horizontal drilling. Opponents of the pipeline are requesting that the board reconsider that approval.
