Ohio Requires Duke Energy to Hold Another Public Meeting Over Proposed Pipeline

Ohio is requiring Duke Energy to hold at least one more public meeting on its proposed natural gas pipeline that would run through central Hamilton County.

Ohio Power Siting Board Executive Director Patrick Donlon said that Duke Energy’s recent changes to decrease the size and pressure of its proposed pipeline should be addressed to the public, which means another public meeting should be planned in order to give residents the option to weigh in on the updates.

Duke Energy responded positively to the board’s requirement of another public meeting, saying it looks forward to talking with those who are along the two proposed routes of the pipeline. The company also said the project would enable it to serve safe and reliable natural gas to their customers for several decades.
