A Virginian group called Preserve Montgomery County is proposing to stop a pipeline that they believe could pose threats to their surrounding environment.
Members of Preserve Montgomery County are meeting together Tuesday to plan a refute against a soon-to-be-released draft environmental impact statement on the Mountain Valley Pipeline that would run natural gas approximately 301 miles through Virginia.
The group believes the draft statement will not be accurate, and they are planning ahead of the release to make their voice heard as they will only have 45 to 90 days after the statement release to make comments.
The environmental impact statement is expected to be released this month.
According to the project’s website, the Mountain Valley Pipeline is a joint venture of EQT Midstream Partners, LP; NextEra US Gas Assets, LLC; Con Edison Gas Midstream, LLC ; WGL Midstream; Vega Midstream MVP LLC; and RGC Midstream, LLC.
